Cafe games 't Clubke in the early years

The Story of Cafe Games Clubke

't Clubke, under this name Danny and his wife Ria operated their little café in Torhout in the 80s, in the good old days when pubs were still bustling with life, where nothing had to be done and everything was allowed.

Previously they each had their own café and got to know each other this way. As entertainment, there was a billiard table in 't Clubke and soccer table, a pinball machine, a darts, an arcade cabinet and a jukebox. Because they fell back on one cafe, Danny had games in surplus and thus began the hire Of devices under the name Cafe Games Clubke.

Renting out pub games

The rental of pub games slowly expanded in this way. With eventually several sets in a lot of pubs and the many depannages and maintenance, at some point it was no longer compatible with the pub. Danny left it and moved the business Café games 't Clubke To Ichtegem.

In addition to appliances at the café, Danny began to focus more on the private market. He switched to selling second-hand tables to individuals and cafes. He taught the craft entirely to himself and was responsible for maintenance, repairs, restorations,... In this he was always assisted by Ria.

The next generation

Meanwhile, the pubs were taken over by his son Dennis. Cozy brown pubs ... once the pride of our country, but over the years we saw the trend change. People still go to pubs, but now also like to make their own pubs at home. Eventually Danny decided to manufacture his own billiard tables in solid oak, with a view to creating a beautiful piece of furniture, fitting into any interior to create a homely atmosphere.

Meanwhile, Danny is well-deservedly retired and left Caféspelen 't Clubke completely to his son Dennis. Dennis learned the craft from an early age, and it was, in fact, instilled with a heart. Succession was assured anyway. In the store and behind the scenes, he is helped by his partner Ilse.
